Day 121 - Paint and Window Screens

They painted the doors and the basement stairway today, as well as some random places like closet trim. I'm glad they did that because it was driving us crazy!

Love this look! I was so nervous but my husband loves it as well. :) Thanks, Pinterest!

They sanded and painted the trim on our tray ceiling & it looks better than we thought it could!
There is an unwired outlet up there for rope lights that might be a problem....

Back to work! - Day 120

The painters are here in our nice and warm house while the Amish siding crew had to come back all the way from Millersburg, Ohio to fix the shakes on the dormer and a few other problem spots while they are here in the cold, icy, snowy mess that is Ohio at the moment.
Like our frosted garage windows? It was an upgrade.

Just kidding. :)

Snow Day! - Day 119

We Had another snow day today & are hoping to get back on track tomorrow. The paint looks good but needs another coat, so hopefully they take care of that! Having to schedule and re-schedule deliveries, dr. Appointments, days off of work to move, etc. is starting to wear on us, so hopefully Wayne Homes stays true to their word and has everything fixed by January 17th (our third move-in date). My hubby says "don't hold your breath" and predicts February. We never got a 120 day guarantee paper from our FM, but that day (according to him) will come and go tomorrow. Maybe we will get $500?

Snow Day! - day 118

No work was done today because we were under a level three. We have crazy wind chills and negative temperatures. So far it seems like the house is fine, although there is frost & ice on the inside of our windows from condensation.

Brrrr - Day 117

Painting & Electric - Day 115

After a few lengthy and somewhat heated discussions about painting and paint type with our painter this morning, I think we have everything ready to go for paint on the doors and walls today!

The electricians are coming back to work today and hopefully things will be moving along!

Update: The paint guy "stood by his word" and made things right after a rough start this morning. I don't feel comfortable posting details, but suffice it to say it looks amazing.

The painters will be working today and said they still need to come back Monday. We are supposed to get 8-12 inches of snow Sunday and have crazy temperatures, so hopefully we don't get too backed up. Hard floors are supposed to be installed next week.

The electricians must not be coming back until next week.

Things are looking good. :)
